The Ionosat space system is developed under the Ukraine’s National Special-purpose Scientific and Technical Space Program.
The Ionosat space system is developed for long-term spatial and temporal monitoring of major field and plasma parameters of Earth’s ionosphere to ensure:
The scientific equipment can be supplemented, for example, with a scintillation telescope, sun photometer, or other devices provided by interested organizations, including those from abroad.
The orbital constellation includes three satellites with the same or similar scientific payload. The satellites create a triangular configuration. Distances between the satellites can be changed and can range from several dozens to several thousands of kilometers, which will enable simultaneous many-positional measurements of ionospheric parameters with different configurations of the satellites relative position.
