Yuzhnoye SDO was very successful in missile and launch vehicle production. Yuzhnoye-designed components occupy an individual niche in the world rocket engineering and often have no parallel. Rocket engineering evolved by improving rocket components, and many problems were solved by introducing new technologies and upgrading those already in operation.
The launch vehicle components are highly reliable, which was confirmed by all-round development testing and many rocket launches. Operation of these components does not pose a threat to the environment.

Load-bearing structures:
Riveted compartment
A framed structure comprised of ring frames, stringers, fittings, and shape-generating sheets.

Frame
A space frame welded from high-tensile stainless steels.

Welded compartment
A welded structure comprised of a cylindrical waffle-grid shell and lower and upper end frames. The compartment protects the engine and houses instrumentation, pipelines, cable harness. The compartment is primarily used as an aft bay.

Transducers
Separation switches
The switch checks a spacecraft separation event and separation of launch vehicle parts (the switch can be used as an end switch).

Relative path sensor
The sensor checks a relative path of launch vehicle parts in separation.

Flow sensor
The sensor measures the volume flow of rocket engine propellants.

Pyrotechnical mechanisms
Pyrolocks
The pyrolocks secure parts, separating from a launch vehicle, and can be also used for attachment and separation of spacecraft, following an electrical command

Pyrolatches
The pyrolatches latch locking systems of deploying hardware and release them during deployment, following an electrical command

Pyropin
Small and light-weight, the pyropin is used for disconnection of space hardware components and features high energy characteristics and reliability.

Launch vehicle attachment/separation devices
Used for attachment and separation of objects, secured by one device or several devices, by sending an electrical signal.

Electric connector hold and separation devices
Used for disconnection of electric connectors during separation both by electrical command and mechanically, i.e. using inertial forces and a cord attached to one of the separated items

Payload fairings, protecting spacecraft from environment, including thermal and aerodynamic loads during transportation of a fully assembled launch vehicle, at launch, and in atmospheric flight;

Reinforced-plastic
Relatively smaller (1.5-2 times), reliable, durable, and shatter-proof when destroyed in failure.

Thermal insulation for payload fairings, using nonmetal honeycombs and woven-glass reinforced skins with one-sided foil coating, provide high heat resistance and meet highest cleanliness requirements.
