The valve is intended for injection of a high
- temperature gas form the gas generator to the supersonic part of LRE combustion chamber in order to provide thrust vector control in
pitch and yaw. The gas is delivered into two diametrically opposite manifolds of injection nozzles for one of the channels.
The valve contains two normally closed valves and hydraulic amplifier between them with a driving shaft to mate with electromechanical or
hydraulic actuator. Operation – under commands of a control system.
High reliability and service life of the valve are ensured by:
- application of heat-proof materials; - thermal-resistant lubricants; - cooling of internal design elements
The small torque on the shaft is due to application of an inserted hydraulic amplifier operating on one of the LRE propellants tat is
used then for cooling the valve. The throttle characteristics of the valve is close to the linear one.
| Type | normally closed |
Flow passage conventional diameter, mm: - inlet - outlet | 22 19 |
| Actuator | hydraulic, electromechanical |
| Working medium | Fuel-rich generator gas |
| Working medium of the amplifier | UDMH |
| Gas max pressure, MPa | 15 | | Gas flowrate, kg/s | 1.2 |
| Gas temperature, °C | 800 | | Actuator torque, N*m | 1.5 |
| Actuator's turning angle, deg | ±30 |
| Mass, kg | 2.5 |
The injection valve is manufactured serially and is used in composition of LRE.
It can be used also in other systems to regulate flowrate of high-temperature gas. |
